The basic structure of most worship services:
- Welcome:
The Liturgist opens the service and makes announcements. - The Call to Worship:
Members of the congregation stand as they are able and read the Call to Worship aloud from the bulletin. - The Hymn of Praise
- The Invocation:
Members of the congregation stand as they are able and read the Invocation together from the bulletin. - Scripture Lesson
- Special Music or Choir:
During the school year, the choir practices on Wednesday evenings and perform for Sunday service.
During the summer months, sign-up sheets are posted in the Heritage Room so people can volunteer to perform during Sunday service. - Children's Moment:
Pastor Paul calls the children up to the front of the sanctuary and talks to them about the scripture lesson for the day. Afterwards, the kids go out to the congregation and gather up food donations and come back together for a short prayer before going to the nursery or Sunday School. - Call to Confession

- Holy Communion:
Desert Heritage now does Communion by intinction. Deacons usher members of the congregation to the front of the sanctuary, where they receive the bread and dip it into the cup. - Prayer Hymn
- Sharing of Joys and Concerns:
As you walk into the sanctuary, you will see plastic clipboards with Joys and Concerns forms on a small table the your right. If you would like the congregation to pray on a joy or concern that you have, just write it down on the form and place it in the basket at the Visitor's Center desk (just inside the main entrance). If you would rather not share your joy or concern with the entire congregation but would like someone to pray with, a prayer circle gathers at the front of the church after service. - Pastoral Prayer
- Lord's Prayer
- Sharing of Tithes and Offerings
- Sermon
- Hymn of Commitment
- Benediction
